Common questions

Does Sqz upload my images?
No. Everything runs locally on your Mac. Sqz has no network permission and no telemetry beyond Apple's anonymous crash reports if you opted in.
How do I open a JXL file later?
Sqz can decode any JXL back to its original JPEG (lossless transcode) or to PNG. macOS 14 Sonoma added native JPEG XL preview support in Finder and Preview.
Can I request a refund?
Yes. Use Apple's standard refund flow at reportaproblem.apple.com within 90 days of purchase.
Which macOS versions are supported?
macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Universal Binary (Apple Silicon and Intel).
